I donate blood because it's simply the right thing to do. I have been donating blood for nearly 50 years and I recently became a one hundred gallon donor. In fact I celebrated my 70^th birthday by donating my one hundredth gallon at my local blood center. I don't know anyone that's ever needed blood but I know I am helping save lives. I proudly wear a baseball cap that says 2400 lives saved and still going. I plan to donate for as long as I am eligible and I hope to save another 2400 lives.
