I am thankful to blood donors because...
I was a happy-golucky little girl. I saw myself as being just like my friends until I turned 10-years-old. I was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes. I didn't understand the importance of eating right. My poor eating habits landed me in the hospital countless times from age 11 to 18. I almost killed myself by simply eating wrong. July 2008 I had to be put on dialysis. Soon after I had a kidney and pancreas transplant. During the transplant surgery I received three units of blood. Today I am alive due to the gifts from blood donors and unknown organ donors. I have a second chance. I take good care of myself so I can councel children with juvenile diabetes. Follow your doctor's order! Your Life depends on it.
