I donate blood because it's my way of being a hero in the community. I started donating blood on September 11 2001. It felt good being able to help out even though I'm not a firefighter or a police officer. I continued donating blood regularly and even started donating platelets. I recently hit the five gallon mark and I encourage everyone I meet to donate blood.
