I am thankful to blood donors because...

In 2004 I developed a high fever that lasted for several days with no symptoms of a cold or flu. Medicine was not bringing the fever down. After 7 days of a fever and not eating my blood pressure dropped to stroke level. I received a full-body blood transfusion. By the next afternoon my fever had dropped and by the next morning it was gone. I quickly regained my appetite and energy and was on my way to a full recovery. It wasn't until months later that my condition was diagnosed as a rare virus. Thanks to the generosity of blood donors today I am a healthy and active 8 year-old who loves going to the zoo.
