I am thankful to blood donors because...

I'm Trace I am 7 years old and I love to fish. Mom and Dad say I live life out loud because I was such a sick little boy. When I was two years old I was diagnosed with lymphoblastic leukemia. I needed a bone marrow transplant to live. Our blood center partnered with the Houston Bone Marrow Donor Registry and set up two blood drives to find a match for me. They got over 160 units of blood and 325 additions to the National Bone Marrow Donor Registry. I was lucky I had a bunch of matches. So at age two I underwent a bone marrow transplant. During my treatment I was transfused with 45 units of red cells and platelets to help my body fight the disease and to help me get strong again. Now I'm seven and healthy. THANKS!
